Mr. Van grew up in Garden Grove, California. In 1996, he graduated as Valedictorian from Pacifica High School in Orange County, California. During his senior year at Pacifica, Mr. Van was concurrently enrolled at UC Irvine through its early admissions program.Mr. Van attended the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a dual emphasis in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. In 2000, he graduated magna cum laude from USC and was a member of the following honor societies: Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Kappa Phi, and Golden Key National Honor Society.
In 2003, Mr. Van obtained his Juris Doctor degree from UC Hastings College of the Law. He was the recipient of the Witkin Award from Hastings for achieving the top grade in his legal writing and research course. Mr. Van was a member of the Hastings Law Journal and served as a volunteer mediator for the San Francisco Superior Court, Small Claims Division. Mr. Van was admitted to the California State Bar in 2003 and is an active member of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He has experience in a variety of practice areas including construction litigation, bodily injury, products liability and municipal liability.
